Indie-Pop Songstress Sam Casey Shares Powerful New Single/Video “Good Fight”

Toronto-based alternative pop singer Sam Casey is making a statement with her new single and video “Good Fight.” Sam has spent the last two years making a name for herself in the Canadian pop scene. Her latest song has everything we love about the indie pop scene all in one place. The lyrics and vocals are catchy and dripping with attitude, the beats are pulsating, and the production is huge without sounding robotic.
The official video is a great introduction to Sam’s utterly confident but slightly offbeat sensibility and personal style. “Authentic” is the singular word we’d use to describe the track and video, which you can view below!
Sam has this to say about how “Good Fight” came to fruition:
“‘Good Fight’ was born out of a conversation between (co-writer) Laurel Clouston and myself. We were simply shooting the shit in our producer’s home studio about the abundance of female musicians and the polarizing lack of females we had personally seen in positions of power/management positions, as well as the pressure to ‘look’ like an artist rather than just BE an artist. We were, and are, very cognizant of the vast improvements for women in the entertainment industry over the past few decades, and we spoke about certain women who have become decision-makers for themselves, such as Rihanna, Maggie Rogers, and Beyoncé.”
“Good Fight” will appear on a forthcoming EP from Sam Casey due out in 2023 on PopGuru/The Confidence Emperors.
