Lenni Revel Premieres Her Redemptive New Single “Then Arise”
Lenni Revel premieres her latest single, “Then Arise,” a feel-good tune with gospely features that will have you rising to your feet!
The bangers are gratifying, and the ballads tug at your heartstrings in all the right ways, but when it comes to both live and studio tracks, there’s nothing quite like “the anthem.” It’s always amongst the best tracks on an album, and it’s one of the songs that people pay to see. Revealing today, perhaps her most anthemic anthem is Lenni Revel and her latest single, “Then Arise.” This is one of those songs that gets you rising to your feet, a feel-good tune with gospely features that makes you feel reassured in knowing that other people think and feel just like you do.
“Then Arise” will be included on Lenni’s upcoming full-length titled Unbroken. It’s a significant step forward for a young artist really coming into her own, a long way away from the addiction issues that once dominated her life and put into question her musical aspirations. Things became so challenging at one point that she was spending time in a psych ward on suicide watch. She eventually became committed to being and staying sober, and a chance meeting with her future husband, and co-writer, Robert Revel, helped turn everything around.
Robert has become an integral part of what Lenni does as an artist. Explaining his role in crafting “Then Arise,” she says:
“My husband, Robert, wrote this song long before we met. We recorded the first demo of it in our garage during the COVID lockdown. It was just a piano and vocal demo, but I could feel and hear that it was going to be a huge anthemic song. It has turned out to be exactly that, and more—it’s got this gospel rock vibe I did not see coming until we got into the studio.”
She continues:
“We love this song so much that when it came time to create the music video, Robert and I went all in. We drove coast to coast in a converted sprinter van, gathering footage of me singing in nine states and 23 locations. Now it just needs to go on tour and be sung live, which I am so very excited to do.”
Once she connected with Robert and became comfortable with her pursuit of sobriety, the creative juices began to flow. Unbroken is representative of her journey, thematically exploring how it feels to be truly free from the grasps of addiction, and something other than you controlling your life. Robert did the bulk of the writing with this record which worked out extremely well, given his intimate knowledge and understanding of what Lenni had progressed through. The songs explore freedom and what it finally means actually to feel it. You could say it’s what rejuvenation sounds and feels like.
