If you’ve yet to check out the new cut from The Crystal Method (who is Scott Kirkland) and pioneering UK breakbeat producer Hyper, now’s the time to do so. The single, titled “Post Punk,” is a hard-driving banger and features words by legendary Stooges frontman Iggy Pop. The single is set to appear on The Crystal Method’s forthcoming seventh studio album, The Trip Out, due via Ultra Records on April 15th.

Per a recent press release, “Borrowing a soundbite from Jim Jarmusch’s Stooges documentary Gimme Danger, the track is built upon distorted synths and heavy drums, while Iggy Pop—in his signature, gravelly voice—asserts his individuality. ‘I don’t want to be a punk. I don’t want to belong to any of it,’ he pronounces. ‘I just want to be.’”
