Folk punks Sir Reg were formed by Irishman Brendan Sheehy, who left his home-town of Dublin and headed to Sweden with a guitar and a dream, to put together the most amazing band possible. Since 2009, that dream has seen his band share a stage with everyone from The Misfits to Thin Lizzy

Now, heading into 2022, the band are set to release their sixth album entitled The Kings of Sweet Feck All. In anticipation of the album due out on April 1st through Despotz Records, the band are premiering the title-track, a raucous slice of Celtic punk, right here:

Explaining the story behind the song, the band revealed: “Sometimes people follow the flock and go along with things just because they feel they have to! This song is about a bunch of British soldiers raiding the home of an Irish family during the war of independence. The soldiers didn’t want to be there, but it was their job and their duty. A reminder that even enemies feel compassion for each other.”

Full of songs that bring together everything from the issues of modern-day society to finding the right bar on a Saturday night, in this world of uncertainty, there are few things that will lift your spirits like a raucous, rollicking, rambunctious slice of Celtic folk/punk, and Swedish/Irish sextet Sir Reg are more than happy to oblige!

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
