EG Vines Confirms New Album ‘Through the Mirror’; Releases Debut Single “The Royal Diplomat”

Nashville native, EG Vines has confirmed an August 27th release of his forthcoming sophomore recording, Through the Mirror, loaded with ten new ’90s indie and alt-rock-laced tracks, including the lead single, “The Royal Diplomat,” which is out now! The new album follows Vines’ 2019 debut, Family Business, which received positive praise from noteworthy outlets the likes of Billboard, NPR, and Rolling Stone.

Recorded with co-producer Dylan Alldredge at Skinny Elephant Recording in Nashville, Through the Mirror is, according to a recent press release, “a collection of songs influenced by a hyper-politicized world and the dilemma of social media, being in a hall of mirrors instead of seeing reality.” Vines notes, “It’s that social dilemma. People get in their hall of mirrors and maybe they’re not looking at reality.”

Commenting specifically on his new album’s lead-off single, Vines shares, “‘The Royal Diplomat’ was one of those that I kind of blacked out whilst writing it. I remember coming up with that guitar riff in the turnaround and belting out ‘Never spoken,’ but that’s about it. It’s another one that lyrically means different things to me on different days. I think musically, we were channelling The Smashing Pumpkins and The Bends-era Radiohead.”
