Sometimes you just feel like you need something soothing for the soul. Especially on the weekend… It’s time to rest that weary head of yours and relax your mind with the acoustic stylings of Timber Choir.
The talented indie-folk duo is pleased to be releasing their new single “Right Beside Me,” a delicate little number that will calm you right down if you’re feeling a little on the uptight side. At the same time passionate and endearing, the song is a perfect reminder of what’s truly important in a relationship with another person. It’s not about how much income you have or how big your house is… it’s about sharing each other’s company, enjoying the smaller things in life and recognizing how much they mean to both of you.
Commenting on how the song came to be, Adam Sams, one half of the pair said, “‘Right Beside Me’ began with a simple phrase repeated over and over: ‘It’s one of the few things I can count on, one of the few things I can trust.’ From there we asked ourselves, ‘What are the little moments that sustain us each day, the going-through-the-motion routines that might be easy to miss?’ We wanted this song to narrate the sweetness of a relationship that has withstood time; a love story that is enriched by daily giving and sharing of little things, like washing the dishes without being asked and humming a song while you brew the morning coffee.”
A duo that specializes in writing songs that emphasize the realities of everyday life, “Right Beside Me” fits right in within the growing Timber Choir catalogue. Sams is joined in this fruitful collaboration by Brendan St. Gelais, a producer and engineer who has worked for many years at Paul Moak’s well-known recording studio in Nashville called The Smoakstack.
Sams and St. Gelais first joined forces within the very active Nashville music scene as songwriters at a music licensing company called Soundstripe which provides royalty-free music for videos, podcasts, and other assorted media. Within this atmosphere, they realized that they had a lot of musical commonalities which led to some more involved songwriting. Burgeoning with sincerity, Timber Choir is here to help settle things down and let you reflect on what really matters in your life.
