Loads of us have been eagerly awaiting the release of Run The Jewels new album, RTJ4, and the duo—El-P and Killer Mike—just surprise-dropped the eleven-track two days ahead of the previously-scheduled June 5th release date. Out now on all digital providers via Jewel Runners / RBC Records / BMG, it’s time for #musicheads to get their stream on. RTJ also posted a list of organizations that are fighting for justice, change, and equity in America, including their longtime allies the National Lawyers Guild which, amongst other things, provides legal representation for lawful protesters. The full list is here: runthejewels.com/pages/donate.

Commenting on the early release, the guys shared, “Fuck it, why wait? The world is infested with bullshit so here’s something raw to listen to while you deal with it all. We hope it brings you some joy. Stay safe and hopeful out there and thank you for giving 2 friends the chance to be heard and do what they love.

With sincere love and gratitude,
Jaime and Mike.”

The duo continues to mass-popularize its heavily socio-political messages via mind-blowingly addictive tunes and collaborations and, as evidenced by the recent single and video, “Ooh LA LA,” a heap of guests musicians also await. From Pharrell Williams, Mavis Staples, and 2 Chainz to Zack de la Rocha, Josh Homme, DJ Premier, and Greg Nice, RTJ4 boasts an all-star cast.

RTJ4 was mainly recorded at both Rick Rubin’s Shangri-La Studios and NYC’s Electric Lady Studios. In other news, the band is also set to unveil their own cannabis line, a collaboration with the founder of the legendary Cookies strain. Previously announced tour dates with Rage Against The Machine have been rescheduled for summer 2021.
