Greg Puciato has offered a second preview of the music from the impassioned musician’s forthcoming debut solo album, Child Soldier: Creator of God, in the form of new track “Deep Set.” The song is available both digitally and as a hyper-limited (250 copies) 12″ single via his and co-founder Jesse Draxler’s Federal Prisoner arts collective.

The unpredictable Los Angeles-based singer surprised fans with the news of the solo release debuting the single “Fire For Water.” Federal Prisoner, Puciato’s label in partnership with graphic artist Jesse Draxler, simultaneously released 500 12″ vinyl singles which were snapped up within minutes of their availability.

“Deep Set” was produced by Nick Rowe (Vampire Weekend, Haim) and mixed by Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Cure). As Puciato did with “Fire For Water,” he played all of the instruments on the song with the exception of drums, which were done by Chris Hornbrook (Dhani Harrison, Poison The Well, Big Black Delta).

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
