Swamp Dogg Unveils Animated Video for His Piano Ballad “Billy”

R&B/Soul/Country artist Swamp Dogg has unveiled a beautiful Mike & Julia McCoy-animated video for his piano ballad “Billy.” The equally gorgeous single is lifted from Dogg’s new album, Sorry You Couldn’t Make It, which drops this Friday via Joyful Noise Recordings and Pioneer Works Press.

Commenting on the video, the McCoy’s shared, “Swamp Dogg’s song captures the bittersweet essence of the human experience. In the video, we tried to convey the color and beauty of life paired with scenes of quiet isolation and loneliness that are felt after a deep loss. The song is sad, but hopeful as we see life continue to grow. We were honored to be a part of Swamp Dogg’s art and hope that the accompanying video reminds everyone that there is still a bright world in the midst of your darkest moments.”

Sorry You Couldn’t Make It was recorded at Sound Emporium in Nashville with the musician backed by a studio band led by keyboard virtuoso Derick Lee. Speaking of the album, Dogg said, “They didn’t have any blacks in country until Charlie Pride came along. But in time, all things change and that’s what has happened to country music.”
