The trend in Podcasting has soared to new heights throughout the past 12 months and looks set to continue way into 2020 with the growth of further online music streaming services. London-based Music Collective and PR Agency Made At Last have embraced this trend and launched the first in a series of music industry-based Podcasts titled We Are The Road Crew. Comprising of a series of unique and fascinating interviews with the road crew, technicians, and support personnel working in the live music industry, exploring the highs and lows of what it’s like to experience life on the road with some of the biggest bands and artists in the world. The show is hosted by the highly-respected music journalist Stephen Hill, who himself has spent many years writing and interviewing artists for worldwide publications such as Metal Hammer, and co-hosting the weekly Riot Act Podcast.

For the majority of the year, our favourite bands and artists are playing shows all around the world, in an attempt to connect with new fans, sell merchandise and boost their financial income in an increasingly tough climate for musicians themselves, but what gig-goers are sometimes unaware of are the logistics behind giving you, the audience, the best show possible. The We Are The Road Crew Podcast debunks those myths and gives you the honest answers though a series of light-hearted, informative and at times humorous interviews with the Roadies, Production Managers, Tour Managers, Backline Technicians, Sound Engineers, Lighting Engineers, Riggers and a whole host of people who make the live music industry tick.

Recorded in London’s premier sound facility Factory Studios, Season One has been completed and includes guests such as Peter Hince who was head of the road crew for British rock band Queen between 1976 and 1986, Graham Wright, who worked as a roadie and drum technician for Black Sabbath throughout the 1970s, and lighting and stage set designer Paul Dexter, who has toured extensively with the likes of Motley Crüe, Ozzy Osbourne, Ronnie James Dio, and many more. With more great guests lined up for Season Two, now is the time to follow the Podcast on social media @RoadCrewPod.
