Sammy Miller and The Congregation Totally “Shine” on Their New Music Video

Taken from their upcoming debut album Leaving Egypt, New York-based band Sammy Miller and The Congregation has unveiled a shimmering music video for their lead single “Shine.” The nine-track Leaving Egypt is due on February 7th, 2020, and was recorded at United Studios in just four 16-hour days, and produced by Jay Bellerose (Alison Krauss, Ray LaMontagne, Robert Plant, B.B. King).

Led by Grammy-nominated drummer Sammy Miller, the group is rounded out by Sam Crittenden (trombone), Ben Flocks (tenor sax), Molly Miller (guitar), Alphonso Horne (trumpet), Corbin Jones (bass, tuba), and David Linard (piano). Speaking of the song and video, Miller noted, “I was watching a bunch of Charlie Chaplin shorts this summer. I always love that in spite of everything around him, he is optimistic. Our lonely lil drummer boy in ‘Shine’ is in a similar position. He wanders, struggles, toils, and aches, but ultimately he doesn’t lose faith. He even finds some friends along the way.”
