KISS, IRON MAIDEN, SYSTEM OF A DOWN and More Set for DOWNLOAD 2020
Leading rock event, Download Festival, has announced rock giants Kiss, Iron Maiden and System of a Down will be appearing at the 2020 rock weekender.
It feels like we’ve only just packed away our festival kit from the 2019 when the announcements for 2020’s summer of outdoor gigs start to appear in our inbox and the first announcement couldn’t be any bigger as Download Festival organisers have announced that their June 2020 rock weekender will be headlined by three massive bands.
Heading up the bill for the 2020 bash which will take place at Donington Park from June 12th to June 14th will be glam rock legends Kiss, heavy metal icons Iron Maiden and nu-metal game changers System Of A Down. If that isn’t enough to have you fighting for tickets, organisers have also confirmed the three massive headliners will be joined by Deftones, Korn, The Offspring, Disturbed, Gojira, Alestorm, Black Veil Brides, Daughtry and Of Mice and Men.

Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson says, “Next year we will play a number of countries and cities we have yet to visit on this incredible tour, so it is terrific to be able to accept the invitation to return to Download in 2020 and we will certainly go to town and add a few extra items to the show. This will be our seventh time headlining at Donington Park. It’s home turf and we all really enjoy playing this Festival, the vibe from the crowd is always fantastic.”
Kiss frontman Paul Stanley said: “Download will be the culmination of 47 years of unapologetic bombast and spectacle. We will make this a fitting farewell to a country and its people whose music remains the blood in our veins.”
Day two of Download 2019 saw the return of Slipknot, check out our coverage here.
Shavo Odadjian, System of A Down said: “From our appearances to many of my favorite bands’, Castle Donington has always had a special place in my heart. We’re proud and excited to continue its legacy.”
Slayer and Tool headed up a massive final day at Download 2019. Check out our coverage here.
With many more acts to be announced Download has set the bar for rock festivals in 2020 and we’re still nowhere near the end of 2019. We’re already counting the days!
Download Festival takes places from June 12 – June 14 2020 at Donington Park. For ticket and line-up information visit the Official Download Festival website.
