Guess what we got for you today? A new free song download of “Emily,” the newest single from Nottingham, UK all-female rock trio Desensitised. Taken from their newest album, Sister Psychosis (buy/stream now here), the track is a pop-punk gem propped up by a tight snare-based drum beat. It’s a call back to all the best that garage rock and pop punk have to offer, in a sharp two-and-a-half-minute package. From the minds of Charlotte Radford (lead vocals/bass), Libby Butterworth-Smith (backing vocals, guitar), and Claire Brookes (drums), Desensitised are using their melodic polish and stylings to take the UK rock scene by storm.

As the girls generously offer their single for your listening pleasure, be sure to keep a sharp ear open as Desensitised are primed to become a pop-punk phenomenon that you won’t want to miss. As you grab your copy, take the band’s words on the track to help flesh out your enjoyment of the slick tune:

“‘Emily’ is one of our favourite songs on the new album. It’s a pop-punk anthem with vibrant guitars, punchy beats and a killer chorus. The song’s protagonist Emily represents the girl everyone wants to be, who seems perfect on the outside but isn’t all that she seems. The theme of jealousy is prevalent throughout the song, with lyrics full of angst and conflicting emotions which contrasts with the song’s uplifting melodies.”
