You’re Cordially Invited to High Tea with THE METAL DUCHESS!
Lav Nandlall has launched her new web series “High Tea with the Metal Duchess” and fans can expect to see some of South Africa’s biggest bands (Facing The Gallows, Chaos Doctrine, Deadline, Dirty Moonshine, Polar Dust and L.A Cobra) spill the tea on South Africa’s music scene, upcoming tours and band gossip!
Heavy metal children’s book author and the South African managing editor of PureGrainAudio, Lav Nandlall also known as “Metal Duchess,” is set to release season 1 (6 episodes) of her online series affectionately titled High Tea with the Metal Duchess this week!
The Metal Duchess invites six of South Africa’s top alternative bands over for a royal cuppa and some banter. But like everything in life, there’s a twist! Each guest has to dress, speak and behave with decorum after all, this is High Tea! If etiquette is broken at any point, guests have to pay a small fine to the teapot of charity. Funds from the teapot and auctioned band merchandise will go to Empowervate which aims to empower and motivate new generations of active citizens and social entrepreneurs.
And while the Metal Duchess is away on said charity events, her Lady’s Maid (Lauren Jansons) takes the reigns and entertains the guests with a parlour game.
“I love tea and I love chatting about music! Why not combine the two together? My friends (the Headbanging crew) and I got together and came up with the concept that saw us break the stuffy and dark interviews that are the norm. We had a lot of fun filming this and we hope you have a lot of fun watching it,” adds the Metal Duchess.
Expect to see some of South Africa’s biggest bands like Facing The Gallows, Chaos Doctrine, Deadline, Dirty Moonshine, Polar Dust and L.A Cobra as they spill the tea on South Africa’s music scene, upcoming tours, and band gossip!
