It’s time for some indie rock this morning and our exclusive premiere of the acoustic version of Los Angeles indie band Superet’s “Bone Bag.” This is a big time for Superet, having just released their debut album How To Work A Room last month, which also features “Comes As Relief” and “YDS2M,” both produced by David Fridmann, well known for his production credits for Tame Impala, MGMT and Spoon. How To Work A Room contains several tales of heartbreak, isolation, confusion, and desire. Commenting on the acoustic rendition of “Bone Bag,” the band stated, “Another intimate version of a song from our album which is quite the opposite. It’s reassuring to make these alternate versions, they help us remember that these songs can stand up on their own. We recorded this entirely live, vocals and all, from our home studio in Los Angeles which is something we don’t get the opportunity to do often.”

For all of you lovers out there, Superet formed on Valentine’s Day, 2016 which just makes you want to go “awww….” The band is led by singer and guitarist Matt Blitzer, who formed the band with close friends Alex Fischel on keyboards, drummer Sam KS, bassist Patrick Kelly and guitarist Isaac Tamburino. The name “Superet” was “borrowed” from the exterior of a local LA church, a Latin term which translates to “may it overflow.” The word seemed perfect for a band name since it fit in appropriately with the band’s modus operandi.

Make way for the “Bone Bag.” Time to check out our featured song today from Superet.

It didn’t take long for the group to really receive their big break when roughly two years ago, the influential radio host Zane Lowe featured their debut single “Pay It Later” on his Beats1 Radio show which is featured on Apple Music. This all came ahead of Superet’s planned East Coast tour in support of DREAMCAR so already, the cards were falling their way. A tour of the west coast with Gang of Youths followed, which culminated with a sold-out headlining show at The Troubadour in Los Angeles. Other accolades have included their song “Receiver” being named ‘Best of The Week’ from Apple Music, as well as being featured on the service’s ‘Breaking Indie,’ ‘Breaking Alternative,’ ‘Beats of The Week,’ and ‘Today’s Indie Rock’ playlists. In support of How To Work A Room, Superet plan to be out on the road for most of the rest of 2019. Things seem to be only looking up for this still emerging and dynamic indie rock group.

Upcoming Tour Dates:

07/26 – Los Angeles, CA – The Moroccan Lounge (Album release show)
10/05 – Austin, TX – ACL Festival Weekend 1

Have a look at this snazzy, live studio performance of Superet’s “YDS2M.”
