New York Rocker GIANNI PACI Confirms that Between the Line of Illusion and Reality, There’s “Only A Mile” [Video Premiere]
New York rocker Gianni Paci has returned with a new single and video with which he confirms that between the line of illusion and reality, there’s “Only A Mile.”
Following the late-2018 release of his then-new single “Make America Great Again,” the self-directed video for which pays homage to Bob Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues,” New York rocker Gianni Paci has returned with a new single and video called “Only A Mile.” Arriving just in time for Gianni’s upcoming performance at NYC’s Club Cumming on June 19th, the new track was, as with most of his music, written, recorded, produced and performed (yep, all instruments) by Paci himself. Not one to abandon the DIY ethos, he also directed, shot and edited the song’s video, which stars actresses Fiona Rae Brunner and Melinda Napolitano.
Speaking of the track and video, Paci notes: “After an evening out at a reception for somebody that I used to know, I felt compelled to capture the spirit of the night in song. Contained within is a series of double entendres that come as close to bottling that feeling as anything ever will, for it’s not so much about what is explicitly stated as what is suggestively inferred. Between the line of illusion and reality, there’s ‘Only A Mile.’”

The Pie Studios EP is the artist’s latest release and includes the popular single “Comeback Kid,” the video for which we previously premiered right here. As we already stated, Gianni is the type of artist that is able to speak to people due to his recognition of the contradictions of infatuation and denial that plague anyone who has fallen victim to the allure of true romance. It’s very self-reflective and self-aware, even if it can come across as a little bit sad at times. If you’ve been through the ups and downs of relationships and romance, then Gianni’s music will relate to you.
His latest album was named Pie Studios because it’s taken from the fabled and mysterious Pie Studios, the location in which the EP was recorded. This is the studio where The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and Jimmy Page have chosen to write and record so this isn’t just some place where chumps find cheap recording time.
