Grab those Pink Leather Jackets because it’s time to party! In this exclusive premiere, we’ve got the brand-new music video for this Toronto-based band’s debut single, “Shed!” Standing for what always has been and always will be true of rock n’ roll, to have fun, PLJ started about a year and a half ago when this quartet of twenty-somethings got together and decided to rock. Fun has always been the underlying fabric of the band, with the guys wanting to do something they enjoy while making a few bucks.

Their music definitely has a strong party vibe to it, with some added humour, sex, and a “let’s dance our asses off” swagger. Lead singer Christopher James brings a confidence to the stage, where he can be loud over the sweet sounds of distorted guitars and booming drums provided by guitarist Steve Colucci, bassist Nathan Colucci and drummer Jordan Zagerman. All of it makes for a recipe for success, which you can hear on Pink Leather Jackets’ debut EP Good Love.

Commenting on “Shed,” the band collectively stated, “The song is inspired by the perspective of ‘the other man’ who is tired of his three-timing side chick. Really a demonstration in the disaster that promiscuity can lead to. With the age of online please-screw-me-apps and infidelity seeming to be trendy, themes of dealing with these times have been seeping into the writing of Pink Leather Jackets. Calvin Hartwick produced it. The recording experience at Dreamhouse Studios with Calvin was great. He got the best out of us I think and seemed to understand the vision very quickly. He’s been a great asset to our team. We did the bass and drums at Dreamhouse with Calvin, then did the guitars at home and re-amped them in the studio, as well as doing the vocals in the studio.”

There is a lot more to come from Pink Leather Jackets, with the band set to be on the road locally around Southern Ontario for much of the rest of the year (full list of dates below)!
