Having already premiered “Drugstore Cowboy”, the new single from John Dear, an awesome two-piece from Lausanne, Switzerland, we’re absolutely stoked to be exclusively premiering the duo’s new album out on April 5, 2019.

Talking to PureGrainAudio about the album, the band said: “This record is the picture of a moment. The spiritual crisis of John Dear, beautiful loser and mad dog, questioning the inverted values of our world. If fools can be president, why wouldn’t John be a guru? A wild spiritual leader for all the Drugstore Cowboys out there. This record is a picture of a moment, as faithful and raw as possible. The picture of 10 days spent in a studio recording songs live, learning to accept and cherish the imperfections that come in the spur of the moment, that special balance between controlling and letting go which is, in a way, the essence of rock and roll.

This record is a picture, a picture of 20 + years of unaltered friendship between John W. Dear and Alma June, always ready for new adventures and pockets full of road songs.

This is record is the picture of a moment, and it looks forward to meeting your ears.”

Drugstore Cowboy is the duo’s sophomore record, produced by Chris Turpin (Ida Mae, ex-Kill It Kid) and mixed by Mark Rains (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Rival Sons), and can be ordered via Irascible Music.

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
