One year ago to the day we got you familiar with Los Angeles hard rocking duo, Satellite Citi and on the anniversary of that day, we are bringing you the exclusive premiere of their new single “Getaway”! You can check out our premiere of the band’s debut EP, Negative Space, which premiered one year ago today, at this location.

Satellite Citi are a determined duo, consisting of vocalist/drummer Anna Gevorkian and guitarist/backing singer Shaunt Sulahian. This is the first single from the band’s upcoming EP, with the song focusing on the issue of karma and how it eventually catches up with bad people. The group intends for the tune to empower people to escape from toxic environments and ensure they are not dragged into unfavorable situations. Satellite Citi’s debut EP, Negative Space, was produced by Brad Wood (Smashing Pumpkins, Placebo, Touche Amore) and were so pleased with the results that they are working with Wood again on their new EP. Check out the guys’ Bandcamp page for order info.

With an exclusive comment on “Getaway,” the Satellite Citi stated, “‘Getaway’ was written about people who think their actions and lies have no consequences, which in turn destroys things around them. We believe in karma being merciless and wanted to write a song about karma catching up to those people. Musically, we sort of based the whole song off the main riff since we both fell in love with it so quick. It’s a pretty big set opener since it hits so hard right from the opening riff.”

Check out the band tomorrow at the The Whitley (formerly known as the King King) in Hollywood in celebration of International Women’s Day.
