Rivers of Nihil are currently meandering across North America on their first headlining tour, promoting their latest album, Where Owls Know My Name. They are playing the 2018 release in its entirety and have enlisted saxophonist Patrick Corona to accompany them. We caught the guys at Club Red in Mesa, AZ on March 19th and they did not disappoint.

Rivers of Nihil ebbed and flowed through and undulating set. Supporting them on this deluge are San Francisco-based Progressive tech death masters, Entheos. Their music transcends the prog-tech genre and their performance was stellar. The second band in the line-up is Conjurer, a doomy extreme metal band from Rugby, UK. Their energy level was at an 11. Opening the show was San Francisco’s blackened hardcore band Wolf King. I didn’t know blackened hardcore was a thing, apparently it is, and Wolf King seem very good at it!

There are still plenty of dates left to catch this tour. Rivers of Nihil even added an extra night at St. Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, so get your tickets now, yo!

Nope, there’s no way this band is living “The Silent Life”.
