It might be a Tuesday night in Leeds but Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall is in no mood for a quiet one. “Are you ready to make this Tuesday night feel like a Friday night?” Tunstall asks a rowdy crowd although she already knows the answer given the reaction she got as she walked out to kick off her high energy set.

Visiting Yorkshire as part of her latest UK tour, a tour which is taking her all over the country, KT Tunstall is supporting her new album Wax although the set balances out new and old material without a heavy bias towards new material. Honestly though, her fans don’t care, they’re just happy to be here and rocking out on a Tuesday night in Leeds so Tunstall gives them exactly what they want.

Full of attitude and with a permanent smile on her face, Tunstall stomps, struts and grinds through her set with everything cranked up to the max. The set kicks off with “In This Body” with the songwriter and her impressive band chucking out “Hard Girls”, “Feel It All” while there is even time for a quick cover of Belinda Carlisle’s classic “Heaven In A Place On Earth”.Encore time sees the night come to an end with “Push That Knot Away” and a raucous “Suddenly I See” with both the crowd and Tunstall raising the roof in the O2 Academy to sign off this Tuesday night with a bang!

Here’s one of KT Tunstall’s rock classics, “Suddenly I See”.

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
