With this latest premiere, get ready to meet the fierce all-female force that is the hard-hitting hard rock/post-hardcore five-piece, Reason|Define. Two full days before its March 1st release, lucky new music junkies get to repeatedly stream In Memory…, the eleven-song album delivered by the Charlotte, North-Carolina-based band of which the lyrical subject matter confronts weightier issues relevant to women (fine, and men too), such as depression and struggling in the music industry as a result of your gender. Head below for the straight goods, and don’t be shy to pre-order and pre-save the tunes here.

Each of this group’s powerful empowered ladies brings to the table a different element resulting in a wonderful heavy and in-your-face sound. Commenting on the album, the band states, “‘In Memory… is a concept album dealing with the five stages of grief. The intro track features Elizabeth Kübler-Ross who built the foundation of the five stages of grief in her book ‘On Death and Dying.’ The stages of grief are broken down into Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance. We wrote two songs for each stage of grief based on our experiences of ‘loss.’ This could be the loss of a loved one, loss of a relationship, loss of control, or loss of your own voice.”

Reason|Define consists of singer Paolina Massaro, bassist and vocalist Caitlin Rutkowski, guitarist and vocalist Sav Ruff, drummer Syd McVicker, and guitarist Shelby McVicker. After winning the 2016 “Best Rock Band of the Year” award at the Carolina Music Awards, the women released their debut album Far From Strangers in March or 2017. Drawing inspiration from acts such as Tonight Alive, Every Time I Die, State Champs, Beartooth, A Day to Remember, and Phinehas, they’ve thus far regularly visited Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Tennessee, Iowa, Kentucky, and Indiana on their many touring adventures.

In Memory… we can’t recall digging this band as much as now!
