Cancer Bats (w/ Bleed From Within, Underside) @ Rebellion (Manchester, UK) on January 30, 2019 [Photos & Show Review]

Honestly, the thought of sending out photographer to cover Canadian bruisers Cancer Bats in place like Rebellion in Manchester made us shudder a little bit. Thankfully Sabrina Ramdoyal survived to bring back these awesome photos.

Honestly, the thought of seeing Canadian bruisers Cancer Bats in place like Rebellion in Manchester made us shudder a little bit. Not that it’s a bad thing, don’t get us wrong, but given the size of the venue and the ferocity of the band’s live show, this was never going to be a gig for the faint hearted.

Like in this video, Cancer Bats turned the Rebellion Rock Club “Inside Out”:

While it’s fairly shitty outside the venue, inside, after sets by Underule and Scotland’s Bleed From Within, the Rebellion is hotter than hell as we’re packed in like sardines waiting for the return of the Canadians and some clobberin’ time! Clearly used to the horrendous weather that has enveloped this city, the Canadian band are in fine form as they batter through an hour or so of their raucous hardcore punk. Supporting their critically-acclaimed sixth album The Spark That Moves, the band scythe through the likes of “Sleep This Away” and “Gatekeeper” with long time live favourites like “Lucifer’s Rocking Chair” and “Hail Destroyer” sounding truly monstrous.

The band’s rendition of “Sabotage” causes all sort of mayhem in the packed room as Liam Cormier and his fellow Bats bring this hotter than hell night crashing to a gloriously chaotic conclusion.
