Just when you thought things couldn’t get bleaker (cold weather, dark skies, pending global financial collapse, current socio-political climate, etc.), Viennese industrial post-rock quartet Phal:Angst drop their official “Despair II” video and shit gets heavy. Taken from their recent EP, Phase IV, which dropped on October 27th, via Bloodshed666 Records, the single and accompanying video create a lonely, chilly, and beautifully brooding tone. Enjoy!

Phase IV was recorded and co-produced by Alexandr Vatagin (Valeot Records, Slon, Tupolev, Port Royal, Werner Kitzmüller) with mastering courtesy of sound engineer Alex Psaroudakis. Get your view on above and be sure to grab the album online at, for example, Amazon or Bandcamp.

No time to sit here any longer and listen to our rad puns? Then watch this video, “On the Run”.

Speaking of the video, the group kindly left us with their thoughts… in the form of a poem? You read that correctly! What better way to sumarise their art then with artsy prose, right? Here goes…

A walk through Vienna on a gritty autumn’s day
Detached from society, time & reality
We ride trains of thought
Graffiti by a heartbroken soul
Reflexions are all we have left
