Fresh from touring Europe supporting the mighty Slayer, thrash metal icons Anthrax are going to be turning Bloodstock Open Air 2019 into a “Madhouse” as they join the bill as special guests on the Saturday. The full round of new additions joining the likes of Cradle Of Filth, Code Orange, Dee Snider and headliners Sabaton and The Scorpions, reads as follows:

1. Anthrax
Saturday’s special guest on the Ronnie James Dio main stage will be thrash titans, Anthrax who are due to start work on a new studio album in 2019. Those of you lucky enough to see them on their recent UK dates will testify that the band are on fire so this is sure to be a highlight of the weekend especially if we get treated to some new material into the bargain!

2 Dimmu Borgir
Next up is a UK exclusive for Bloodstock as Norwegian black metal titans Dimmu Borgir return to Catton Park. Although their last visit to Bloodstock was beset with technical problems, their icy Nordic fury is a welcome addition to the Bloodstock bill where the band will appear as special guests on the Sunday night.

3 Thy Art Is Murder
Australian deathcore titans Thy Art Is Murder will be bringing a slice of heaviness to Catton Park on the Saturday afternoon. Quite frankly, we don’t think Bloodstock will know what has hit it when CJ and Co smash their way through the Bloodstock set.

4 Tesseract
Fresh from touring with Between The Buried and Me homegrown boys Tesseract will be bringing their blend of djent and progressive metal to Catton Park on Friday.

Bloodstock will take place at Catton Park, Derbyshire on 8th-11th August 2019. Get info on ticket packages and additional information over at www.bloodstock.uk.com.

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
