Ready for some goosebump-inducing heavy groove? We thought so! Enter Houston, Texas rockers Wellborn Road and the debut of their brand new video for the ripping single “Reprieve”. The independent foursome have been kicking around since 2005 and have worked their way to the top of the local rock/metal scene thanks to their raw and uncompromising tunes. Three albums in and there’s no sign of these cats letting up…

Following their sophomore recording, Pain Hate Redemption, the Lone Star State favourites dropped their third release, the From Silence to Strength EP on December 9th, 2017, via Lone Star Metal Records. The continued evolution of and dedication to their sound has already afforded the band slots supporting the likes of Skinlab, Shattered Sun, Drowning Pool, Buckcherry, Pop Evil, Taproot, Powerman 5000, and many more.

Another fantastic display of their heavy groove, check Wellborn Road’s cover of Alice in Chains’ “Man In The Box”.

Be sure to check out the group’s music online, at services such as iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify, and, before you head off, here what the dudes had to say about both the song and video:

“This video was shot in Bryan, TX at a little known place called Revolution’s. We wanted to capture the incredible energy that the Brazos Valley has always had in a first person point of view to showcase a scene that few know about.. Musically, ‘Reprieve’ is our homage to a sludgy, swamp sound with a steady pummeling that leaves you exhausted. Without breaking down the lyrics too much, the song is about the give and take in any situation and the limits that can be crossed.”

Born in 2003, V13 was a socio-political website that, in 2005, morphed into PureGrainAudio and spent 15 years developing into one of Canada's (and the world’s) leading music sites. On the eve of the site’s 15th anniversary, a full re-launch and rebrand takes us back to our roots and opens the door to a full suite of Music, Film, TV, and Cultural content.
