Toronto, Ontario deathcore fivesome Creatures are showing their goofy side in this exclusive and “deathly” guitar playthrough video for the song “Rick Sanchez”. The clip is total hilarity, with the five-piece band dressed in 1970s psychedelic-looking clothes, strumming away on acoustic guitars while meanwhile, it’s all death metal. It’s a jokes take on a time, now long gone that might offer you an idea of what it may have been like had death metal bands existed in the age of the hippie.

We’re not sure how this would have meshed with The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane or the Woodstock crowd, but always have our imaginations, right? The video is in support of the guys’ latest release, the EP II which was released in July through their indie label Old Haunt Records.

With some recent comments on the new EP, the band said, “The Creatures ‘II’ EP as a whole is the ideas and thoughts over the past year. We are expecting this release to be even better received than the last EP. We worked twice as hard on ‘II’ and had a few new people along the way that really helped add an outside perspective to the creative processes for a more mature and heavy sound. We really just want to create a seamless listening experience for the fans, leaving them wanting more, and left with the feeling of needing to listen to the EP over and over again.”

II Track Listing:

01. Old Style F.A
02. What Would Rick Sanchez Do?
03. Samara
04. Broken Anchors
05. (SafeSpace) Triggered

If you’re vibing on the metal, then you’ll totally dig “Samara”. Here’s its lyric video.
