The Longshot @ The Observatory (Santa Ana, CA) on July 10, 2018 [Photos]
Back on July 10th, at The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA, we were super-fortunate to catch a rousing performance from The Longshot, the new side project from Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong.

Green Day is one of those bands that almost everyone can agree to be amazing. I remember when I first bought their album Dookie in the mid-‘90s and was blown away. Billie Joe had a voice that captivated, and even 25 years later the songs still find their way into my head. I have seen Green Day live numerous times, but I was excited when my friends of Garageland and Idoless Merch approached me and asked me if I would photograph Billie Joe’s new side project, The Longshot. I had heard a ton of buzz about them, but honestly had been too wary to check it out.
I watched the whole set in awe, as did all the fans young and old. Although the music is different from Green Day, as it should be, Billie Joe maintains his musical style that is still catchy and makes the live performances memorable. I was excited to see Billie Joe still crowd surfing and getting fans on stage to sing with him. The Longshot has songs that will please all era of Billie Joe fans. There are lovers and haters, but I suggest that you still go see them live before making you decision on The Longshot.
Some people may think that “Love Is For Losers”… we don’t.
