Led by Mr. Steve York, a staple in Toronto’s bustling music scene for some 30 or so years, Mercy Flight is a local indie act with a global reach. Their recent single, “Entropy”, which also happens to be our newest free song download feature, is a perfect example of the band’s mellow-yet-catchy vibe. Check out the tune above, and be sure to check out the rest of the ten-track Humanizer full-length, which dropped on June 15th.
York, along with his current team of fellow musician, Katey Morley (Gypsy Soul), Dan Miller (Valerie Dour), Tony Rabalao and Tom McKay (Joy Drop), and Ricky Tillo (Lady Gaga), may be found hosting Toronto’s biggest open mic Freef’all Sundays at the Supermarket Bar and the “Indie Night” at the Piston.
Commenting on the single, York notes: “Entropy” is about the importance of human connection in a disintegrating world. Technologies designed to bring us together are tearing us apart and destroying our physical realities. The song is a reminder to connect and seize the moment.”
