The debut Kore Rozzik album, Vengeance Overdrive, dropped on July 20th and was quickly followed four days later by the music video for the single “Mistress”. The twelve-track recording, available now via Deadline Records/Cleopatra Records, sees the New York metal group (which is led by vocalist Kore Rozzik and rounded out by guitarists Andrei and Lynxx, drummer Louie, and bassist Grim) deliver tunes as strong as their live show, which has garnered them opening slots for a whole heap of big bands the likes of Disturbed, Rob Zombie, LA Guns, and Steven Tyler.

One of recording’s stand-out tracks, it was logical for the guys to bang out a “Mistress” music video. Starring the gang, plus Autumn Burnette as the “Mistress”, the clip was shot and directed by Paul Cunningham of Cool World Photography. On the road supporting their debut by opening for the mighty Otep, we thought we’d sync with Rozzik himself to get some exclusive behind-the-scenes info on the murderous new video. Here goes…

Check out this gallery of exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from the video shoot.

Behind-the-Scenes Info on the “Mistress” Music Video:

Commenting on the video, Kore Rozzik had the following to say: “We filmed it [the video] at this historical home in Columbus Ohio. It was once known to natives as the “circus house”. They used to have actual circus animals living there. The basement was used as the “band dungeon” and other parts of the house for mistress to do her bidding. Using some local Ohio talent from the theater scene – Paul Cunningham of Cool World Photography did a great job working with the band on ambitious 2 day shoot.

We were going for a classic gothic look with a nod to the original Halloween (John Carpenter). Looking to make all the would be violence suggestive with movements and lighting vs the usual excessive blood and guts. The concept of the video is a Evil Mistress who not just dominates her clients but also eventually kills them. I was simply a pawn in her game as I was lustfully possessed by her. Partaking in violence and cover up.

It is implied in the story line of the debut record Vengeance Overdrive that perhaps I have gotten involved in these would be sacrifices to be paid via power or advancement towards my music career. The video, of course, is in all good fun and is intentionally shot and edited to be very suspenseful and cinematic like a horror movie/trailer.”

Without further ado, here’s the “Mistress” video for your viewing pleasure.
