Arizona’s CHRISTOPHER SHAYNE Drops Fiery “Burn Me Down” Lyric Video [Exclusive Premiere]

Arizona-based rocker, Christopher Shayne, is a fiery singer/songwriter whose new single, “Burn Me Down”, will be instantly turning heads; if not for the superb mix of crunchy southern rock, blues, alt-country, and modern alt-rock alone, then for the song’s all-star cast of collaborators in drummer Matt Sorum (Guns & Roses, Velvet Revolver, The Cult), bassist Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction), and keyboardist Railo (Ozzy). With a handful of upcoming US show dates booked (listed below), now’s the perfect time for Shayne to debut his spicy new “Burn Me Down” lyric video.
Commenting on the new single, creation thereof, and lyrical content, Shayne left us with the following thoughts:
“Writing ‘Burn Me Down’ was a fun mix of excitement and terror! I show up one morning to meet Jay Baumgardner and the crew who works at NRG Studios get to work on the new material. After doing the grand tour and idle chat, Ben Moody from Evanescence walks in and it’s go time. I had stayed up really late the night before working on all these different songs to prepare for what’s to come. To counteract this, I had raided the coffee maker more times than I should have. So, I’m sitting on the couch in this gorgeous facility with the people who are in charge making these songs shine, trying not let on that I’m not only doing the typical first impression, “just be cool” internal monologue that comes with meeting anyone for the first time, but wired out of my brain on lack of sleep and caffeine.
“Luckily, an ever-bouncing knee allowed me to make the decision and ‘Burn Me Down’ was picked as the first single. I had a general direction for the lyrics but I just wasn’t that comfortable with where they sat. So Ben, more Sushi than I’ve ever had in my life, and myself sat down and just started talking. A general theme of disillusionment in life started to come about. Talking about politics, music, the world at large; it all became very clear my general discontent for the way things were headed. That’s the place the lyrics came from.”
