The first time we featured Israeli extreme metal act ARALLU, was via our beverage-based video series, Rocktails, wherein the guys got crazy and showed us how to make a tasty Israeli cocktail called “The Limonarack”. Instant fans, we were stoked to do more with the quintet so, when the opportunity to debut their new “Subordinates of the Devil” video came along, we sprang into action! A lot less humorous then our video, this clip is an awesome example of both the group’s blasting metal, and intense live energy.

Laced with Middle-Eastern influences, ARALLU’s extreme metal mix includes black, folk and thrash metal. The aural pummeling also comes replete with traditional instruments such as the Saz and Darbuka, as can be heard on their latest album Six, out now via Transcending Obscurity Records, and which you can purchase here.

Commenting on the new “Subordinates of the Devil” music video, the band said:

“This video is filmed in the old city of Jerusalem, which is where Arallu started way back in 1997. It’s the main place of the conflict of the three main religions. By the old books of Mesopotamia, the devil is ruled under the mountain temple house. This song talks about the history and bloodshed going on for centuries taking place in this old city. There is no peace.”

Born in 2003, V13 was a socio-political website that, in 2005, morphed into PureGrainAudio and spent 15 years developing into one of Canada's (and the world’s) leading music sites. On the eve of the site’s 15th anniversary, a full re-launch and rebrand takes us back to our roots and opens the door to a full suite of Music, Film, TV, and Cultural content.
