UK pop favourite Paloma Faith is set to kick off a summer of gigs at York Racecourse with Welsh music icon Tom Jones and Irish boyband superstars Boyzone also confirmed to appear over two weekends in June and July.

Ahead of her visit, Paloma said: “I’m really looking forward to playing York Racecourse next summer, it’ll be one of the first chances I’ll get to play tracks from The Architect in the sunshine. I love a day out at the races too so can’t wait for it.”

The full programme currently runs as follows:

06/30 – Paloma Faith
07/27 – Tom Jones
07/28 – Boyzone

Looking ahead to his own show, Tom Jones said: “The York races crowd were tremendous on my last visit, I’ve always loved outdoor shows and it’s always lovely to be asked back, we’re going to have some fun.”

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
