Originally released on October 2nd, 2017, Santa Barbara, CA’s The DTEASE are now debuting the official music video for their tasty punk single “Slapshot”. Shot by Gabe Ruiz with Crowded Coffin Productions, the song’s video is simple and all about the OG rock and roll: a live performance, revved-up instruments, and lots (and lots) of gorgeous ladies partying down.
If this news isn’t good enough, well, then fans will be delighted to hear that a new, though currently untitled, album is due out on April 20th.
Commenting on the video, Wilson Gil was kind enough to leave us with these words: “The ‘Slapshot’ video occurred to me when I ran into this college cheerleader at my favorite burger joint and it turned out that they were national championship winners and all super together, motivated college students. I thought it would be a great idea to have the cheerleaders for rock ‘n’ roll because, as you know, rock ‘n’ roll is an underdog genre in these days. I wanted to show a song about fighting the status quo and putting all the preachers and politicians on big rocket ship and blasting them into outer space and then replacing them with the young generation that based it’s politics on love and teamwork as a society as a whole. That’s basically Slapshot in a nutshell.”
