Day 4 of Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival was a perfect way to close out the 4-day weekend, especially with the spectacular performances from Arcade Fire, Zeds Dead and Two Feet.

The final day of Okeechobee, March 4th, was the last chance for attendees to end their day with a bang. The Grove was scheduled to be open past 1am into Monday morning, leaving 12 long hours open for concertgoers to see as many artists as they wanted. Again, Destination Okeechobee kicked things off at the BE stage, preparing its attendees for another day full of great performances.

Getting a late start, I got to kick my day off with Sofi Tukker – a duo you may or may not have heard of. The two struck radio waves last year with their single “Best Friend,” a quirky track with infectious rhythm. Sofi Tukker brought an interactive set to the NOW stage – not only did they bring three fans on stage, but Sophie Hawley-Weld also invited herself into the crowd for a quick dance party.

Shortly after Sofi Tukker, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue were slated to play the BE stage. Ambushing the stage with their many talents, the group played the best instrumentals I’ve ever witnessed live. “Brain Stew” and “Bulls On Parade” were amongst the group’s intoxicating setlist. Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue won the crowd over yet again, as they did the night before with Snoop Dogg and The Roots.

The Okeechobee Gospel Soul Experience was unlike anything I had ever seen before. Son Little and Friends delivered a captivating set that I would never have checked out before had I not had the time to. That’s something to appreciate about Okeechobee – you can discover so much that you would never dream of; stumble upon, and fall in love with a new genre you wouldn’t expect to.

Lil Dicky quite simply played an unforgettable set. The BE stage hosted the rapper for an hour that was jam packed with the unexpected. Opening his set in a black zip-up jacket and what appeared to be a swim trunks, Dicky did not hesitate to strip off his jacket and reveal an EA Sports shirt. From then, he went on to perform the national anthem, claiming that he believed no one else has at the festival – to which the crowd corrected him that The Flaming Lips had the night before. Regardless, he went on, belted the national anthem, and performed more of his iconic tracks. Saturating the crowd with water, throwing a perfect spiral, and keeping a fans iPhone X were just apart of the first three songs – so you can only imagine what happened in the remaining minutes of the set.

Local Natives held a moody blue set on the BE stage, shifting the pace of what the stage hosted all day. The audience consisted of die-hard fans ready to sing their lungs out to both new and old songs, and those waiting for Arcade Fire. Nonetheless, the crowd turnout was much bigger than I anticipated, and their fans sang loud and proud. The bold set featured “Jellyfish,” “Wide Eyes” and “Dark Days,” where Sophie from Sofi Tukker joined the group.

Emerging artist Two Feet performed on the HERE stage, bringing slow-paced, dark, and sexually fueled tracks to the table. Known for his compelling guitar solos and unique voice, the crowd turnout for the artist was unreal. All weekend, the HERE stage was filled with smaller crowds, but people sat down and waited for his set for quite awhile. After expressing that he’d never played to a crowd so large before, the vocalist walked over to side stage and brought out an unopened bottle of Jack Daniel’s, took a swig, and continued on.

The closing set of the night was one people were longing for all weekend. At 11 p.m., Arcade Fire would be the last band to play the Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival 2018. All sets have ended – with the exception of Zeds Dead – and the crowd is thick, extending so far back that the end cannot be found. The multi-talented members of the group walked on stage as the chords to their current single, “Everything Now,” blared through the festival. Sounding just as good as they do recorded, each member had a smile on their face, performing each song to the T. As the band went on to perform “Rebellion (Lies),” lead vocalist Win Butler hopped in the crowd to interact with fans, sending the crowd into a frenzy. The last two hours of OMF18 were devoted to Arcade Fire and their loyal fans, leading into early Monday morning.
