London-based industrial alt-rockers, Wax on Water, are getting revved up to issue their upcoming new album, Procession, in April and are now teasing new music! We’ve teamed with the group to debut the music video for their fantastically droning new “Enamour” single, the album’s first (grab the single via iTunes or Spotify.
Led by singer and songwriter Maya Fire, we checked in with the artist to get her take on the new tune…. “First of all – I’m really excited that PureGrainAudio will be premiering the first Wax on Water single from the forthcoming album Procession – it’s a favourite site of mine covering the kind of music I love. When I started writing my album Procession – I wanted it to document a period of time in my life when I was working through a lot of things – terrible depression and family deaths – I isolated myself and just focused on writing songs that would be cathartic and get me through. I describe Procession as ‘the sound of a soul coming out of a tar pit’, which was where I was at. ‘Enamour’ is the thought that maybe you’re going to make it out alive, but you have so many hopes that haven’t materialised that it’s crushing – and you yearn for your situation to get better.”
Note: The band shot of Maya was taken by Dean Karr.
