In South Florida, the beginning of the year means one thing to festival-goers: Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival is just a few weeks away. On March 1st, the festival’s third and biggest year will run for four days, ending March 4th. The lineup is star-studded, including some of music’s biggest names. Arcade Fire, Bassnectar, Halsey, Khalid, and Travis Scott are amongst the dozens slated to play, paired with smaller acts such as Hippo Campus, Blackbear, Misterwives, Judah & the Lion, and Foster the People, to name a few.

Okeechobee takes place in the heart of Florida at Sunshine Grove, which is filled with grasslands, sparkling lakes, and tropical woodlands. The multi-genre festival offers live sets for everyone to enjoy, alongside art installations, yoga, meditation, culinary experiences that are locally sourced, and more. The festival offers three stages which attendees can travel to and from with ease, minimizing painstaking decision making of who to see, and who to miss.

Okeechobee has offered a PoWoW! lineup in the past, which delivers once-in-a-lifetime performances each year. Leading the PoWoW! in 2018 is Snoop Dogg with special guests TBA. Past PoWoW! artists include Miguel, Win Butler, Skrillex, Michael McDonald, Solange, Mac Miller, Gallant, John Oates, Vulfpeck & many more. The PoWoW! will definitely be one to remember this year, especially with Snoop Dogg leading the act.

There are many sections to Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival, making it one of, if not the most, unique festivals of our time. The Grove is in the center of the festival grounds, and is referred to as the nucleus of the action as it holds the three main stages (BE, HERE, & NOW). Then, there is the Moonlight Oasis, which offers a cultural experience involving art, music and creativity- it includes Jungle 51, ChobeeWobee Village, and Aquachobee Beach.

Chobeewobee Village is a place where festival-goers can feed their soul, inspire creativity, and become connected with themselves and the community. The mind, spirit, and body can be nourished with yoga, daytime workshops, a psychedelic tea forest in the trees, crafting stations, and live music all at once. Yogachobee offers recharging healing with help from Earth Acts Academy and The Healing Sanctuary.

Aquachobee is available for attendees to swim, hang out, and relax in the sand or in the swimming lake. With the bamboo Beach Stage in the area, you’re able to enjoy music from up-and-coming artists and discover new artists to listen to on repeat.

Jungle 51 is for the night owls, and is described as where human form and alien life become blurred. Jungle 51 runs from nightfall until early morning, and has its own lineup. The full Jungle 51 lineup can be found here.
