Austin, Texas-based new-wave punk band Sharks In The Deep End have released a stream for their latest track “Gift In The Attic.” This is a special holiday track that won’t be included on the band’s new EP. The group is currently release a song per month until they release their sophomore EP in February.
Regarding the track, frontman Tucker Jameson shares, “Based on actual events, this song’s roots harken all the way back to seventh grade, where I was blissfully in love, or so I thought, with my very first girlfriend. The holiday season was upon us and I’d saved up my allowance for the perfect gift, a big stuffed animal dog, which was wrapped beautifully in a big box with a big bow. Unfortunately for my fragile 13 year old heart, Christmas break also brought heartbreak and our gifts were never exchanged. For years that gift sat in the attic, as I believe it still does to this very day.”
