Having released their critically-acclaimed album The Mortal Coil through SharpTone Records earlier this month, Sydney outfit Polaris sat down recently and gave an insight into the gear set-up they used to create this gem of an album.

The Mortal Coil was recorded in Polaris’ self-made studio in Mollymook, NSW, where they shipped American tandem, Carson Slovak and Grant MacFarland of Atrium Audio to oversee the recording.

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
