Canadian melodic post-hardcore quartet, King Park, released their four-track The Light I Can’t See EP on November 3, 2017 and, as they so eloquently put it, is “a blend of ambience, harmony and getting yelled at.” A fantastic offering, the guys created a melodic and light backdrop for what’s actually a fairly dark album. Get to know the band through a free download of their single “Grey”.

The band’s Timon Moolman commented on the single noting: “The name ‘Grey’, comes from the second verse of the song. “You’re saving face but your eyes deceive you. Like the fog on my window, the sky turning grey.” When someone is going through depression, they are often forced to maintain the air that everything is okay. They go through their life with a smile taped on while inside them, nothing at all is okay. I think that it’s okay to be in an incredibly dark place, and hiding it will only make it darker. ‘Grey’ is a song about the cracks in that façade, it’s a song about internal struggle, mental illness, and the divide that we have on this Earth.”
