Enter Shikari @ Rough Trade (Brooklyn, NY) on September 30, 2017 [Photos & Show Review]
UK rockers Enter Shikari hit the stage at Rough Trade in Brooklyn, NY, for their only US album release show.
A week after releasing The Spark, Enter Shikari headed overseas to perform their only US show for the remainder of 2017. Filled with fans who traveled from all over the country, Rough Trade was completely packed, creating an intimate (and incredibly sweaty) environment.
After starting the show off with “The Spark,” the band warmed fans up with some older favorites, namely “Redshift” and “The Last Garrison,” before transitioning into some of the more anthemic and upbeat tracks off of their latest record. The energy in the room quickly picked up throughout “Take My Country Back,” “Undercover Agents,” and “Rabble Rouser,” as Enter Shikari proved that they could successfully get a crowd rowdy even at 2:30 in the afternoon. When the band returned to the stage for a three-song encore, it didn’t take long for vocalist Rou Reynolds to join the crowd so that he could sing “Live Outside” amongst the fans.
If there was anyone in attendance who was still iffy about the direction Enter Shikari is headed in with The Spark, I doubt they left the venue that day feeling the same. Once again, the band has undoubtedly proven that they are one of the best, through and through.
For those of you who can’t get enough of The Spark, fear not. Enter Shikari will be kicking off 2018 with a full US and Canada tour, accompanied by Milk Teeth.
