Milwaukee’s (now based in LA) revered indie rock innovator Big Mother Gig are stoked to share the B-side to their new single “Nametag” which is due out on September 26th. Head below to hear the song’s acoustic version, as well as the lyric video for the original. The group’s forthcoming album is an EP titled Almost Primed and marks their first new release in twenty plus years. Get your pre-order on at either Bandcamp or Apple Music!
We checked with the guys who in turn offered this comment on the song: “We’ve been loving our new single ‘Nametag’ and wanted to change it up a bit to show our mellower side. We all really dig acoustic takes on rock songs and some of our favorite songs are somber tracks by weathered rock bands like The Replacements ‘Here Comes A Regular.’ This new ‘Nametag’ single offered a chance for some newer members of BMG, Mike Datz and Micah Lopez, to lend their talents. We cut this one in an afternoon and mixed it the next day.”
