Vans Warped Tour @ BB&T Pavilion (Camden, NJ) on July 7, 2017 (Part 2) [Photos & Show Review]
When we last left off (Part 1), I was getting my face melted by Municipal Waste. I headed back over to the Monster stages to catch Emmure next, before returning to the Journey’s Left Foot stage to see Bam and Phil Margera along with their extended family introducing CKY. Middle school me was stoked.
It was off to the Full Sail stage next for British pop punk band Boston Manor. After watching them bounce around the stage for a bit, I headed to the Mutant stages to see Counterparts and Too Close To Touch. If you get the chance to see TCTT live, do it–those dudes put on a hell of a performance! One of the best sets of the day was next, with blessthefall playing to what was probably the biggest crowd of the day. Frontman Beau Bokan was all over the stage, hanging from the support beams, and hopping in the crowd. Seriously if you catch one band at Warped this year, make it blessthefall.
Over on the Full Sail stage, Knocked Loose kicked things up a notch. They had the largest crowd of the day at that stage, and the biggest mosh pits. Frontman Bryan Garris and his cohorts ran rampant around the stage, with multiple guest vocalists from regional hardcore bands assisting Garris throughout the set. Silverstein put on a fun performance next over on the Mutant stages. Towards the end of their set, Beefcake the Mighty from GWAR appeared on stage and “killed” Silverstein’s bassist. He then took over and performed “Ghost” with the band.
British horror punk band Creeper closed out the good weather with a set on the Full Sail stage that ended as a rainstorm was just bearing down on the venue. I escaped to the Amphitheater stages to wait out the rain and caught the final set of the night from Greek punk band Barb Wire Dolls. These guys bring it live and are totally worth catching if you can!
