Charlotte, NC is home to a no-frills rock and roll quartet known as The Fill Ins that are all about making their music fun! Ahead of their upcoming new album The Time Is Now, which drops on June 30th via No Profit Records and Scatboy Records (and can be pre-ordered here), we’re stoked to share the band’s ripping single “Lock and Load”. Grab it now and be sure to see the band live when they open for legends The Dwarves and Richie Ramone.
The Fill Ins frontman Alex Stiff commented on the song’s meaning: “’Lock and Load’ to me is a perfect introduction to the band in my eyes. With some issues keeping us from really being as active as we wanted to last year, we really felt that for our next album we really need to start off with a bang. ‘Lock and Load’ is about just simply having enough; having enough of the co-worker that is always taking your lunch from the fridge, having enough of the toxic people that suck the life out of a music scene, it really can relate to a wide array of people in your personal life. Those sort of people are never happy and once they just turn around and look at their own reflection, the things they want to bring you down for are the same personal issues they may have with themselves.”
