Portland’s doom, sludge masters Norska, featuring members of YOB have premiered the second single “Fire Patience Backbone” from their upcoming sophomore full-length, Too Many Winters. Released through Brutal Panda Records, the album will be the band’s first full-length since 2012.

Too Many Winters features six new song and over 40 minutes of dark, bludgeoning, cosmic doom. The band create a sonic landscape that is heavy, claustrophobic and otherworldly. Commenting on the new album, the band said, “Too Many Winters is a collection of our thoughts and musical ideas over the span of 5 years. It reflects our influences in and outside of the band.”

The album was recorded by Adam Bradley Pike (Red Fang) at Studios in Portland and mastered by Billy Barnett (YOB) at Gung Ho Studios. Norska recently performed with Tool drummer Danny Carey in Portland at a benefit for YOB frontman Mike Scheidt. The band is scheduled to play at this year’s Stumpfest in Portland on April 22nd alongside Elder and Intronaut.
