At The Drive In (w/ Denzel Curry) (SXSW) @ The Mohawk (Austin, TX) on March 15, 2017 [Photos]
At The Drive In totally rocked the House of Vans party at The Mohawk during SXSW, just after rapper Denzel Curry dropped a killer set!
House of Vans at The Mohawk is by far one of my favourite multi-day SXSW events every year, and this year was no exception. The Wednesday late show, headlined by The Black Angels and Poliça (who I didn’t have time to stay for) had a “special guest”. The “special guest” was At The Drive In, by far the worst kept secret of SXSW. One of my favourite rappers, Denzel Curry, was slated to play immediately before them, so I of course shot and watched him as well.
Denzel absolutely destroyed, but when ATDI came out, the crowd turned into a frenzy. Lots of old heads were in the building to see ATDI, and they played all their hits, including “One Armed Scissor”. This was also one of the very few shows I shot while simultaneously being smashed into the stage repeatedly by the crowd. Totally worth it in the end!
