Calgary, Alberta’s The Press Gang are a mutt of a rock band in that they blend punk, heavy metal and hard rock into their riff-heavy sound. With their song “Dagger For The Eye” – which you can now stream and download right here – the band pay homage to the late, great David Bowie.
“Dagger For The Eye” is the opening track off the band’s latest release, Medusa 5. The 10-song offering was released on October 12, 2016 and demonstrates the quartet at the top of their game. For more music and to purchase/hear the full new album, visit The Press Gang’s Bandcamp page RIGHT HERE!
Said lead singer and rhythm guitarist Colin McCulloch about the song:
“One of my biggest musical influences was David Bowie. His passing, and the way he checked out with his final album was nothing short of spellbinding, inspiring, and very humbling. This song is a tribute to the man and his work ethic, and a brute reminder that we are all indeed mortal. Life is short. Sing your OWN song, make your OWN mark upon the world. Let this be a call to arms to do just that each and every one of us. What this man did with his life creatively is staggering.”
