Metallica – “Hardwired” [Song Review]

It has been eight long years since legendary heavy metal band Metallica has produced a studio album, but, on November 18th, the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame inductees are set to release their eleventh studio album, Hardwired…To Self-Destruct.

The recording’s lead single, “Hardwired”, just released and I must say, if this is a prelude to what’s to come, Metallica fans will not be let down in the least.

For me, the new song is three minutes and nineteen seconds of sheer unapologetic, in-your-face metal reminiscent of old-school Metallica. You know, the Metallica that kicked you in the balls, threw grit in your eyes and had you begging for more… Yep, unrelenting. That Metallica. I am really hoping this is only the beginning of more bad-ass tunes and, for now, I shall throw up my horns and shout, welcome back mother fuckers!
