Here it is, folks! You’ve been waiting for four years but now, without further ado, we’re stoked to present to you the premiere of “Fading”, the first new release from Slyde’s forthcoming new EP, Back Again. The Toronto, Canada-based progressive metal band offer up intricate instrumentation with fast-paced riffs and soaring vocals – totally for fans of bands like Rush, Dream Theater, Coheed and Cambria, and Megadeth.
Slyde’s “Fading” delivers their usual high caliber craftsmanship – marked by melodic and high energy aural assaults – and the band’s following will celebrate the darker and more vicious side they showcase on this track. Since Slyde’s 2009 inception, elements of European metal, Japanese video game music, and Western alt-grunge rock inspire each song, all while retaining a pop sensibility. “Fading” can be purchased exclusively at slyde.bandcamp.com beginning today! Hard copies of Back Again will be available for purchase at the band’s live shows.
The accompanying artwork tells the meaning behind the song: “We’re really pleased to be collaborating with a visual artist for all our singles, where the added dimension of artwork can interrelate with the lyrics and music,” says Slyde’s keyboardist Sarah Westbrook.
