Warped Tour and Riot Fest may be skipping out on Toronto this summer, but there are still plenty of incredible rock artists paying us a visit. From Blink-182 to Guns N’ Roses to Black Sabbath, there’s a whole variety of amazing artists and bands coming to Toronto. Summer sixteen is going to be a great one. Here are my picks for the best rock concerts to attend this summer, ordered by date.
01. Brand New @ Sound Academy
“Jesus Christ, that’s a pretty face” is what I’ll be whispering to myself as I admire Brand New from afar. They’re playing shows June 9th and 10th at the Sound Academy.

02. City and Colour with Hannah Georgas @ Molson Canadian Amphitheatre
I had the pleasure of listening to Dallas Green’s angelic voice at Riot Fest 2014, and it’s definitely something you’ll want to experience more than once in your life. June 17th and 18th at the Amphitheatre.

03. Sting & Peter Gabriel @ Air Canada Centre
The iconic Police and Genesis band members toured together in the 80s for Amnesty International, and will be reuniting for a once in a lifetime concert tour. For the Rock Paper Scissors tour, Sting and Gabriel will perform their own songs as well as their respective bands’ greatest hits. Happening June 29th at the ACC.

04. Weezer and Panic! At The Disco @ Molson Canadian Amphitheatre
Excuse my manners if I make a scene, but don’t threaten me with a good time. The Summer Tour 2016 will be supporting both bands’ recently-released albums, Weezer and Death of a Bachelor. Check ’em out July 6th at the Amphitheatre.

05. Journey and The Doobie Brothers @ Molson Canadian Amphitheatre
The two iconic bands that helped define the “San Francisco Sound” are bringing the San Francisco Fest 2016 tour to Toronto. Check it out July 7th at the Amphitheatre.

06. Guns N’ Roses @ Rogers Centre
Nothin’ lasts forever, but this concert is sure to stay in your heart forever. Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan will be performing together for the first time since 1993 for the Not in This Lifetime tour. See them July 16th at the Rogers Centre.

07. Dave Matthews Band @ Molson Canadian Amphitheatre
I could listen to Dave Matthews’ sweet voice all day. They come to Toronto on tour every summer, and they’re actually known for playing improvised renditions of their songs that are different every time. Check them out August 19th at the Amphitheatre.

08. Blink-182 @ Molson Canadian Amphitheatre
You’re not going to want to miss out on this throwback concert and you’re definitely not going to get bored to death. If Blink themselves aren’t already enticing enough, they’ll be joined by the All-American Rejects, All Time Low, A Day to Remember, and DJ Spider. It’s all happening at the Amphitheatre on August 21st.
